Our Story
We created Coastal Care Counselling for people seeking mental health care that feels both professional and deeply human. Coastal Care Counselling began at the University of Victoria, where we met during our Master of Counselling program. We connected through shared values, lived experience, and a strong interest in thoughtful, research-informed clinical work with diverse communities.
With backgrounds in areas such as domestic violence support, addictions, and sexualized violence, we developed a shared commitment to compassionate, justice-oriented, and trauma-informed care.
During our training and early clinical work, we saw how effective evidence-based therapy could be, and also how challenging it was for many people to find care that felt accessible, affirming, and responsive to their individual needs.
That experience shaped our vision for Coastal Care Counselling.
We created the practice to offer high-quality mental health care that is flexible, relational, and grounded in respect for identity, safety, and choice. Based in Victoria and Vancouver, we provide online counselling and psychotherapy across BC and in person in Victoria, BC, for a range of mental health concerns, supporting individuals at different stages of life with care that meets them where they are.
